“Fantastic stay at the Sumner with a staff who aims to please!”
We stayed 3 nights at the Sumner and from the moment we arrived, the staff went to work making our stay exceptional. We were able to check in early and given help with our bags. In fact, the staff helped us with all questions and throughout our stay clearly wanted us to feel comfortable and taken care of. The room was compact, but comfortable, clean, and quiet. Breakfast was included in our rate and included a wide variety or breads, cheeses, fruit, eggs, meats etc. The location was only a 5 minute walk from the Central line's Mare Arch station. Oxford street and Hyde Park were highly accessible. A highlight of our stay was the help and care given by Ricardo. He greeted us each evening with a smile and brought up a tray of tea and small sweets each night. As with the others on staff, he clearly wanted us to have a great stay...which we did! I would highly recommend this hotel for exceptional service, good location, and comfortable rooms. Source: Trip Advisor

“Very friendly and welcoming”
My wife and I chose this hotel without any real sense of exactly where we wanted to stay in London. Boy, did we pick a good one! The hotel was very clean; our room was on the second floor, facing the street, bright, large and nicely decorated.
Staff was very friendly and welcoming, special thanks to Noami, the receptionist on duty on our arrival. Another good thing about the hotel is its location. There are plenty of restaurants and shops in the vicinity, and some very upscale stores along Oxford Street. The completely unplanned walk to Notting Hill and the Portobello Road Market was one of the best things we did in London. Other than sleep, we spent little time in the room, but loved the hotel. “Great stay!”
We stayed here in July 2011 for a week and loved it! The location is great (you must go to Hyde Park on Sunday). The staff was very polite and friendly. The breakfast was very good and filling. The room was small, but we weren't expecting a suite, so it was no bother. I highly recommend this place. Source: Trip Advisor

“Perfect details”
I have been at the hotel last week. Everything was perfect, the service level, amaizyng. I have to reinforce the attitude of Mr. Ricardo Melgarejo and of the Hotel Manager (I don't remember his name), because I felt really their support to make my short time at London easyer. Thanks for all, Miguel Bosch Source: Trip Advisor

“Wonderful Stay!”
My daughter and I stayed for 9 days in May while attending a family wedding. The Sumner is a fabulous hotel and the staff is exceptional. From the moment we arrived everyone was very helpful in getting us to parties and the wedding, while also recommending sightseeing. It is a great location with a terrific Pub on the corner where we toasted each evening before retiring. The complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate and biscuits were a lovely touch and breakfast was delicious with many choices! Our room was so comfortable, clean and quiet. Ricardo was a pleasure to work with during our stay and was extremely informative. We will be staying again next time we come to London. Thank you to everyone at the Sumner for making our trip so memorable and fun. Source: Trip Advisor

“Home in London”
I stayed at The Sumner for 10 days in May/June 2012. I was entirely on my own, first trip to England and received excellent personal attention (what would I have done without Ricardo, Vitalia and Naomi?!), The Sumner has best location, less than 200 mts. to March Arch Underground Station and Oxford St., plenty of restaurants very close by. I would return without a doubt at any time. Source: Trip Advisor

Stayed in this hotel for a couple days, and I could not be happier. Its just a great place with a really nice atmosphere - a nice personal touch about it, yet still a luxurious experience... Ofcourse the Location is just perfect, short walk to Oxford street, the great food on Edgware Road - 1 min walk!. Staff were great at recommending places in case you feel adventurous;) I really dont have anything bad to say about this hotel and will be recommending it to all my friends and family. “AMAZING HOTEL.... NTN BETTER....”
Its just wow.... keep it up........Frankly speaking, the photo looks better then in reality. The hotel was clean and tidy, people are very friendly and supportive. Breakfast was excellent, just the pool area was not as expected. In their Emirates Holidays Brochure it was said that it would be on the top of the building, but in fact it is not the top of the building it is top of the lobby. The sauna and fitness center was great, even we fly Emirates Airline Business Class they did not offer us an early check-in like in most of the other hotels. The last day, I gave tips to the concierge to handle our luggage and to take it to the complimentary chauffeur driver of Emirates Airline, but he just took it and let the other guys get the job done. Later they asked for more tips, but I'm not a cash machine and can give everyone tips. Source: Trip Advisor

“'Just Perfect'”
We stayed at the Sumner on 23/07/12 for one night only. The service received from booking to leaving was just superb. In fact when we returned to collect our baggage in the afternoon, whilst no longer officially guests, we were provided with complimentary tea /coffee & biscuits. The hotel is beautifully appointed and spotless throughout, and the air-con super efficient. There are lovely touches as well such as bowls of snacks and children's sweets in the lounge. Breakfast also very good. This was also the quietest night we have ever spent in a London hotel. We would happily recommend this hotel to family and friends. Source: Trip Advisor

“Well looked after”
Had a wonderful stay at the Sumner last weekend in order to attend a concert in Hyde Park. Perfect location at under ten minutes walk from the park. Beautiful spacious well appointed and comfortable room on the first floor. Very well looked after by Joanna and Navgeet on Reception from checking in, through to answering our queries and providing wonderful tea / biscuits in the lounge. Both were very professional and very friendly. The complimentary breakfast was very good - lots of choice. My only slight reduction in the rating was due to it being expensive ( due to the proximity of the date of the Olympics) but the room and the service received were absolutely excellent. “stay at Sumner Hotel”
I have recently spent a week in London, staying at the Sumner Hotel. I was on my own, and the hotel was like a home for me to come to at the end of the day. The staff were particularly friendly and hospitable, looking after me in a personal way. Their suggestions and advice led to some delicious dinners, and fabulous sight seeing. The location makes it easy to walk to many interesting places and it is very handy to the tube and buses. Source: Trip Advisor

“Best Hotel in central London.”
We stayed in Sumner once and liked it very much. You fell like in a luxury hotel but it's very small and private. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful and very english with all these beans and toasts and eggs. The room was very spacious. As it was our honeymoon we found a bottle of vine in our room one night, and it pleased us a lot. Source: Trip Advisor

“The Sumner Hotel is the best for me”
I’ve really enjoyed visiting this wonderful hotel few months ago, stayed 1 week there and I really can say it was the best week staying in the best place I’ve ever visited in my life! Very great location in the heart of the city and very close to EVERYTHING in it, in the same time it’s in a very quiet street. It looks like I’m in an excellent 7 stars luxury hotel but I felt like I’m at my private resident with the very friendly, polite, pleasant, helpful and professional staff and management, in addition to the clean and extremely comfortable bed, and the excellent nicely decorated room with modern bathroom, also the breakfast was very delicious with very fresh food, drinks…etc... actually everything is perfect in The Sumner Hotel (location, staff, quality, services, bed, swimming pool …etc) So that ,,, I’m highly recommending it for anyone visit London , as I will not stay at anywhere else but the Sumner Hotel and I’m really planning to go there soon... (as I really missed that very lovely charming place and all the staff working there). Source: Trip Advisor

“The Sumner was wonderful.”
We spent two nights at the Sumner and found it truly wonderful. A beautiful old building in an interesting area which has been tastefully modernized and has a staff of cordial and helpful individuals. Don't miss the Portman Pub just downstairs and the Winoteca across the street. Thanks!! Source: Trip Advisor

“Short break in London”
We wanted a central hotel as we were guests at a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace and the next day were going to the Chelsea Flower Show. The Sumner was an excellent choice. Although it is only a quick walk to Marble Arch and Oxford Street, it is in a very quiet residential street. The staff were extremely helpful and happy to bring a tray of tea/coffee with chocolate teacakes (included in the price of the room), when requested. The breakfast was very good indeed, with plenty of choice. The room was very nice, with a giant bed and an excellent shower in the ensuite. The price was good for Central London and well worth it. We would definitely go again. Source: Trip Advisor

“3rd visit to the sumner Hotel”
This was our third visit ot the hotel. We stayed for a week and were fortunate: the fickle London weather favoured us and we did not experience a single day of rain. Our repeat visit to the hotel speaks for itself. We again liked accommodation, service and amenities. A detail we haven't mentioned before: the proximity to Hyde Park. There is nothing we like better than a walk through the Park on a sunny Spring morning, prefereably on a Sunday. We also recommend the restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the Hotel, most within walking distance. Some are located in Upper Berkeley street itself, others in Baker Street and nearby. A suggestion: improvemnt to the soundproofing system of the rooms. Source: Trip Advisor

My husband and I stayed at the Sumner for 8 nights in April. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. The staff are very friendly and helpful. “Cozy and Discreet Right in the Middle of London”
I had an excellent stay recently at the Sumner. It feels like you're in a country home and yet the atmosphere is quiet and appointed. You get the best of what a hotel can be with the calm of a B&B right in the middle of London. The service was great. Classy, polite staff -- Joanna, Ricardo and Moros -- all made me feel that they personally wanted me to be happy.

“Lovely stay”
My wife and stayed here for one night on March 13th. We were in London to celebrate our son's 26th birthday. He works in Marylebone, which is only a 10 minute or so walk away from this wonderfully situated hotel. For the evening, we enjoyed a great get-together in Soho, at Floridita's Cuban restaurant/club on Wardour Street. The Sumner Hotel, itself, was absolutely charming. The location, near to Marble Arch tube station and Hyde Park, is superb. The staff were lovely, the room was fine and the breakfast excellent. We would definitely want to stay here again, of that there is no doubt.

“Overwhelming Experience”
My mom and grand mom wanted to visit me for the vacations. Earlier I was in a dilemma whether which hotel to book for them as they preferred staying in a boutique hotel rather than any other hotel and trust me my choice of selecting the sumner hotel after going through the trip advisor reviews, really proved to be the best. We asked for a spacious room without any stairs, as my granny have a prob with her knee, and finally they provided us with the deluxe room on ground level. Although the room was the most expensive 1 but it actually was worth it. We asked for a double bed which was all set at the time of arrival, & according to my granny the bed's comfort was d way she wanted. She was check`d in with a warm welcome by the girl Joana, and the over all ambience and the service provided with the staff was commendable. They even offered complimentary tea at the time of arrival, and the staff was readily available 24hrs. Even the location of the hotel was amazing as is situated 5 min walk from the marble arch station and even 7mins walk from the Oxford Street which is a hub for shopping. The hotel service also arranged a cab for us which was waiting for us before time. Over all, my mom and granny personally liked everything about the sumner, except, they wanted to extent their stay which couldnt happen as the hotel was fully booked due to obvious reasons. i really wish the sumner keep the spirits high. And surely will book it for the next time soon as its now in my priority list. Cheers !!!! Source: Trip Advisor

“Beautiful boutique hotel, great location”
My husband and I stayed overnight to celebrate his birthday and our 2 year wedding anniversary.
The hotel is boutique, with a great location and only 5' walk from Marble Arch tube. Quiet neighbourhood, yet very central. Price was great, especially during Olympics time.
Breakfast had the right variety and was lovely too. Hotel decor was beautiful and staff was super friendly. Room and bathroom were so clean! Highly recommended. Source: Trip Advisor
